Aliens Voted in Colorado Nearly 12,000 foreigners were discovered on voter registration roles in Colorado, according to Secretary of State Scott Gessler who examined voter lists statewide. Of those ineligible alien voters, nearly 5,000 voted illegally in the 2010 general election in which Sen. Michael Bennet, D-CO, only narrowly defeated his Republican opponent, albeit by a margin larger than 5,000 votes. "We don't have a screen for citizenship on the front end when people register to vote," he said in testimony before the House Administration Committee. Rep. Gregg Harper, R-MS, called the revelations "a disturbing wake up call... We simply cannot have an electoral system that allows thousands of non-citizens to violate the law and vote in our elections." |
